Where Do Investments for the Future Take Place? UNCTAD have now released their World Investment Report. The US still gets the most foreign direct investment, but is now followed by Britain as number two, passing China. It is indeed possible to create a good business climate in "Old Europe" too! UNCTAD also made a survey of which countries are today regarded as the most attractive prospective regions for research and development. China is number one, followed by the US, then come India, Japan and Britain. (Sweden is number 30, hardly visible in the diagram.) That is a sign of the future - there will not only production take place, but also reasearch.
