Don′t Forget. Everyone agree that we have an increasingly globalised world. There are still dictatorships, barriers to trade, high taxes and public monopolies - but freedom is increasing. We have more global capitalism now than we did 20 years ago. One figure is better than most others in showing what this has lead to: The share of the world′s population that lives on $ 1 a day or less decreased from 40 % to 20 % between 1981 and 2001. Reality speaks for itself: We need more global capitalism, not less.
