Tyrants Are The Enemy, Not Muslims. India has the second largest population of muslims in the world, after Indonesia. But not one single muslim terrorist has come from India. As opposed to, for example, the large amount of terrorists coming from Afghanistan, Saudia Arabia, Iraq, Indonesia, etc. What is the main difference? Democracy. India is a stable democracy whereas the others are not.
The core of the neoconservative foreign policy of George W Bush is to introduce democracy where tyrants now rule. There are many reasons for this, of course, such as pursuing freedom over the world. But one reason has also been the war on terror. There is a clear link between dictatorships and terrorism. The former harbour the latter.
This has been doubted by many. Some say that Bush just wants to have US-friendly governments all over the world. Some say that tyrants are not our enemy, it is Islam in itself, whether the Muslims are in dictatorships or not. But the Indian example provides a strong counter-argument to that - and a strong argument for the Bush policy.
