I Love Bottoms Too. Despite vacation, I have noticed a debate about the latest campaign from Lindex, a company selling underwear. It is called "We love bottoms" - see the picture below. In my view a good campaign, optimistic and showing some diversity too. Feminists, however, seem to have the opposite view. If Lindex shows their products on beutiful bottoms, they seem to believe, it would be to admit that people like to see beautiful bottoms rather than not so beautiful ones. Thus, such campaigns should not exist.

But why deny reality? If Lindex wants to sell their products, they want to show them in a way which the consumers find positive. And they do. If the consumers disliked it, Lindex would not have shown the underwear in this fashion. Thus, what the feminists dislike is that people (men) like beutiful bottoms. They want to change us. We should like the ugly, not the beautiful. Or perhaps we should not care at all about how other people (women) look.

I find this immoral. First, I think that we should be allowed to look at beautiful women in films and commercials if we want to. I would never deny any woman to look at Tom Cruise if she wants to. Second, trying to force people to seek the ugly and not the beautiful is a horrific thing. Should we seek ugliness among not only people but also clothes, houses, cars, environment etc too?

Last but not least: I know that I don?t look like Brad Pitt. So what? If I feel bad because women want to look at him it?s my problem. Then it is I who emphasize looks too much. I know ny strengths and weaknesses, everyone has both. I would never want to force people not to like things where I may be weak. It is all a matter of how I handle it.
