Sorry, People of Latvia! Tomorrow, on Sweden?s National Day, we are 50 Swedes who publish a letter in the largest daily in Latvia, Diena, where we send our apologies to the people of Latvia. We are happy that the Latvian people threw away the Communist dictatorship, reformed the country and became EU members. And we feel ashamed of the way our populist government and protectionist trade unions have acted. Instead of welcoming the Latvians back to Europe, they want to shut the borders of Sweden. We want the Latvians to remember that many Swedes are totally different and want to welcome not least Latvian entrepreneurs to come here.
