WSJ Again. Last Friday, the Wall Street Journal (both in the US and Europe) dedicated the main article in the "Politics & Economy"-section to the report by Jan Edling, and the headline is "Sweden′s Hidden Jobless". The article quotes the report and states: "Labor Economist Asserts Unemployment Is Near 20 %". The desperate attempts by the government to hide the massive failure with emplyment in various programs, sick-leave and early retirement is described. Jan Edling himself comments: "The public debate is about statistics, but they are only a symptom of something that is wrong in this country." Apart from his comment, the Finance Minister Pär Nuder is interviewed - and tries to explain - and I am interviewed, pointing out that the government has a problem with reality being against them.
