A Dramatic Fall for Sweden. How large the foreign investments are in a country is a good sign of how the climate for bussiness is. In Sweden, for the fifth year in a row, the foreign direct investments (FDI) decrease. In 1999, Sweden was number four in the UN league of FDI. In 2003, Sweden was number 27. Even if we measure it as an average of the 1990s and 2000s so far, we have fallen down. And last year we had a negative inflow of capital to Sweden for the first time since the year of serious economic crisis, 1992. Everyone knows that you need investments to have new jobs. And in a worsening situation, should we then avoid all kinds of changes, as the current government is doing?
