The Ever Brighter Future Can Be Ours. I just spoke at the conference "Does the West Know Best" in Brussels, organised by the Center for the New Europe and the Stockholm Network. My topic was the need for reform of the welfare systems and its effects particularly on the labour market. I proposed four major reforms: abolish the public pension age, reduce benefits in public social insurance, free enterprise in welfare services and lower taxes. Thus, a new model for Europe which would increase work, growth and living standards.
