93 Per Cent. I gave one speech this Thursday in Stockholm and one yesterday about my book. Both were great events which gave me new ideas. The first speech, at SalusAnsvar, was led by Kristian Luuk, and Sture Nordh, Gustav Fridolin and Thomas Eneroth commented on my speech. Over a hundred people were there. Afterwards, the audience answered a question electronically: Do you think that the public welfare systems are under threat? 93 per cent voted yes. I think it is hopeful that many see reality as it is - now it is time to talk more about the better society we can have instead, with low taxes and private welfare. The speech yesterday was for people representing the building industry in northern Sweden and was followed by the annual Builder′s Ball. The Chairman of the Community Council was one who commented on my speech. A Social Democrat with a background in the trade union. I was surprised to note that he was not critical - he also saw reality as it is. Sweden has to change in a changing world. A typically optimistic and constructive local politician, perhaps one explanation for Umeå being such a dynamic place.
