Disappointing, Ashton! The Economist is disappointed with the replies by the new EU Foreign Policy Chief, Catherine Ashton, in the questioning in the European Parliament. Read here. I am not surprised. She has no experience from foreign policy - and thereby no deeper knowledge of the issues. Then you get replies about future meetings and processes rather than issues and policies. This is the leadership the EU gets if 27 people make the choices rather than people in general, following a lively public debate.
