Farming Is No Longer the Dominating Industry Globally. Since man kind invented farming, in today′s Iraq, it has employed more people than any other business. Now, for the first time, the services industry employs a larger share of the world′s population. So we have 42 per cent in services, 36 per cent in agriculture and 22 per cent in industry. This is a sign of progress and wealth - poorer countries are leaving agriculture too, as it becomes more efficient.
