A Different Perspective. Recently, I talked to a young woman, a successful professional, who now lives in Sweden but was born and raised in China. We talked about the differences between those places, and she said:
"To me, China is capitalism and Sweden is socialism. In China, the differences between people grow, everything is up to you and development is very fast. Here in Sweden, it is more the same for everyone and government takes care of people."
China has an annual economic growth rate of 9 % and Sweden about 2 %. Thus, the Chinese economy doubles in 8 years and the Swedish economy doubles in about 40. She has a point in her description of the two economies - and it is showing.
