Achievement. Lord Harris of High Cross passed away recently. Not a person I knew, but I do know of his achievements. He founded the Institute of Economic Affairs in London in 1955, still one of Europe′s most respected think-tanks. At that institute, the reasearch and production of ideas and policies that laid the foundation of Margaret Thatcher′s policies took place. As everyone knows, in turn that not only changed Britain - which went from being one of the poorest countries in Western Europe to be one of the richest - but also Europe and economic policies in general. Every great change has to start with great ideas with a strong foundation in research. That is indeed an achievement to remember - and be thankful of.
