Reform-Minded Swedish Government. The new Government in Sweden is all over the media and the personal qualities of the Ministers are scrutinised. I know about half of the Ministers fairly well and was positively surprised by the composition of the Government. I have pointed out that in economic policy - particularly the labour market, but also welfare services - this Government will be one of the most reform-minded in Western Europe. To that, I think one would now have to add at least also foreign policy, education and culture, where strong people were appointed. Prime Minister Reinfeldt has shown that he doesn?t demand to dominate and be the only star of the cabinet. A more bold and interesting leadership than we have been used to for a decade, no doubt.
