Privatization. The other day, I was interviewed by Dow Jones Newswire about the recent proposal by the Swedish opposition to privatize state-owned companies. I think that it is a principally important and good proposal, thought too cautious. Why should any state-owned companies be exceptions and remain onwed by the state, as they propose? This may well, however, make a somewhat predictible election debate more interesting. The Social Democrats will likely be both traditionally socialist and populist in their rhetoric against this.
