When the State Does It... Some good friends gave me a very uncommon kind of single malt whisky from Scotland: an Islay which is the European Parliament?s own brand. Funny and interesting. But as I tried to open it, the cork was split in half so the bottle wouldn?t open. Some people would probably, following this, feel inclined to point out the deficiencies of anything the EU does. I think more broadly about the issue; this is what happens any time the state delivers things, whether on local, national or European level...
