King of Pop vs King of Rock - the Myths Will Live On. For an Elvis fan like me, the similarities between the death of the two artists are striking. Very talented, globally famous and rather odd lifestyles. Elvis was still touring when he passed away, but his brand had been damaged at the end. The same, but much more so, for Michael Jackson. Elvis was the ultimate Greek tragedy, a man coming from nothing, winning the world and dies too young. The death of Michael Jackson has the same ingredients, and will probably contnue to fascinate people for decades too. Like Elvis, he will probably sell more records after his demise.
