Poverty Increase? Brussels shows a sunny but crisp-cold side today. The World Economic Forum in Davos just starts and is in focus. Of course, they will talk about the economic crisis, not least since the real economy figures deteriorate by the day. One worrying issue is that poverty seems set to rise again, after many years of reductions. The figures of dramatically dropping capital flows to emerging markets don′t look good. I hope the Davos participants agree to stay away from protectionist measures, which would worsen the situation.
