Volvo and Tblisi. I already heard the rumours yesterday at dinner here in Brussels that Volvo might decrease its working force in Sweden by more than 3000 people. That is a consequence of lower sales, which I assume are a consequence of higher gas prices and a weaker economy. The opposition is making futile attempts to make this political, but politicians can never save old jobs - and their policy never benefited employment anyway.
I started the day by jogging here i Brussels, through Schumann, Parc Cinquantenaire and past the European Parliament. Now off to meetings, then to Tblisi. I will be the dinner speaker tomorrow together with Georgia′s Prime Minister Vladimer "Lado" Gurgenidze. Will be very interesting.
