Slovenian Reforms. I just did the key note speech at an arrangement in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Lots of interest, not least from the media. This is a very beautiful country with a well-preserved yet at the same time modern and stylish capital. Slovenia was always the wealthies part of former Yugoslavia. In the early 1990s, it reformed substantially, but has since then stalled. There has been a backlash, and taxes remain high. Hopefully, the elections this fall will provide a chance for a new wave of reforms. This year, they adopted the euro, which some blame for the recent inflation. I wonder what they think of the reasons for higher inflation in the world outside the euro zone...
