The 2006 Globalization Index. The A T Kearney/Foreign Policy Globalization Index for 2006 has now been published - looking at data from 2004. It measures the degree of globalisation with 12 variables, in 62 countries that account for 96 per cent of global GDP and 85 per cent of global population.
Despite terrorism and new restrictions, the world is getting rapidly more globalized. Foreign trade increased by 9 per cent and foreign direct investment in Asia incresaed by 45 per cent - in one year. Singapore, Switzerland and the US are the most globalized countries. Sweden remains number 10; it gets the highest score on Internet use but only 19 in economy.
