Great International Interest. Following the results in the Swedish election, I have received happy e-mails from many countries. Sweden is a much more discussed country than the size of its population would suggest. A victory for the parties that proposed change in the direction of market-oriented reforms gives hope for the same in other countries, particularly in the rest of Western Europe. In my view, the result is a logical step in a Swedish reform process that was initiated almost 20 years ago and stalled for ten years with Persson. Now, Sweden can continue to improve with de-regulations, lower taxes and more of a free economy. I have explained this for, among others, AFP, Associated Press - an article I heard was published in China Daily - and Folha de Sao Paulo, the largest daily in Brazil.
