Newsweek: The Top 100 Global Universities. In the global competition for high-skilled production, the quality of universities are of course one important factor that determines the degree of success for a country. Newsweek today presented its list of the top 100 universities in the world. Newsweek has evaluated the universities on a number of criteria of relevance to make the list. The only European universities among the top 50 are British, Swiss and one in France. The top is dominated by American universities. The best Swedish ones are Lund at number 76 and Uppsala at number 88.
