Wealthy Irish People. The Bank of Ireland - not to be confused with the Central Bank of Ireland - has published a survey of eight leading OECD countries. They have analysed the situation and development of the net wealth of the average citizen. The Irish have climbed to position two, and there are now some 30 000 Irish millionaires (in euro). A main reason for this increased wealth is a decade of great economic growth, another part is a strong growth in housing prices. Here is the "wealth list":
Net wealth per person (euro):
Japan 205,675
Ireland 148,130
United Kingdom 137,277
United States 128,810
Italy 125,512
France 103,476
Germany 90,462
Canada 85,147
